Originally built in 1906, the building served as a powerhouse for the third rail trolleys of the Oneida Railway Company. They built four identical buildings so the trolley could stop every ten miles and get a recharge. The other three buildings were built in Canastota, Vernon, and Clarks Mills. Ours is the last one that remains.
